The SAFECHAIN™ Professional Certification Framework™ establishes the governance, standards and certification methodology for recognising individual competence in safeguarding, governance, organisational resilience and institutional improvement.

Professional certification demonstrates that an individual has achieved an independently assessed standard of knowledge, practical application and ethical practice. It provides organisations, regulators, commissioners and the public with confidence that certified professionals possess the capability required to implement recognised governance and safeguarding standards.

The Framework establishes a transparent, evidence-based certification model that supports lifelong learning, professional accountability and continuous professional development across all sectors served by SAFECHAIN™.

This Framework applies to certification across all SAFECHAIN™ professional disciplines, including:

Certification Principles

SAFECHAIN™ certification shall be:

Certification Pathway

Professional certification follows six stages.

Stage 1 — Application

Applicants submit:

  • qualifications

  • supporting evidence.

Stage 2 — Eligibility Review

Applications are assessed against:

  • experience thresholds

  • ethical declarations.

Stage 3 — Learning

SAFECHAIN™ certification may include progressive levels such as:

Foundation

Practitioner

Demonstrates competent professional application.

Advanced Practitioner

Demonstrates specialist expertise and independent practice.

Senior Practitioner

Demonstrates leadership, mentoring and organisational influence.

Fellow

Recognises sustained professional excellence, strategic leadership and significant contribution to the profession.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Certified professionals should undertake ongoing CPD through:
