What's New at SAFECHAIN™

Over the past several weeks, SAFECHAIN™ has grown considerably — not in ambition, but in what actually exists. Two flagship publications, an expanded framework library, and a clearer route for institutions, universities, funders and government departments to engage directly. This update brings the homepage in line with that work, and explains what's changed.

THE INSTITUTIONAL PORTFOLIO 2026

The Institutional Portfolio is the single-document answer to the question we're asked most often: what is SAFECHAIN™, what has it produced, and how can an organisation work with it? It brings together the governance philosophy, the ten Core Governance Frameworks, the Sector Framework Portfolio, the Academy, research, government policy engagement, and community impact — in one place, designed to be read in a single sitting rather than pieced together across the site.

THE FOUNDATIONAL ANNUAL REVIEW & GUIDE 2027

Where the Portfolio is the executive overview, the Annual Review & Guide is the full introduction — thirteen chapters moving from why institutional safeguarding matters through to the complete framework architecture, sector by sector, closing with a reflection on what all of this exists to protect: the person behind every file.

THE SECTOR FRAMEWORK PORTFOLIO

The framework library has expanded to fifty-eight frameworks across nine sectors — justice, health and care, education, policing, local government, housing, financial services, technology, and the voluntary sector. Each builds on the ten Core Governance Frameworks, translating shared governance principles into sector-specific practice.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

If you've visited safe-chain.org before and found it difficult to locate the right resource, that's a fair criticism, and it's being addressed directly. The homepage now includes clear routes to request the Portfolio, the Guide, and specific framework detail, alongside the existing Academy and research pathways.

Materials sit across three access levels: openly published research and policy work; materials available on request, typically with a same-day response; and framework methodology and implementation tools available to named institutional recipients under agreement. You don't need to know in advance which category something falls into — ask, and you'll get a direct answer.
