Core Question
How can ownership, occupancy, housing rights and property interests be verified across institutions?
Purpose
Explores Land Registry, mortgage provider and housing association integration — supporting housing, family justice and financial services applications.
The Property Information Problem
Property interests — ownership, occupancy, beneficial interest, mortgage obligations, tenancy rights — are held across multiple, disconnected registries and institutional records. Land Registry holds title. Mortgage lenders hold charge information. Housing associations hold tenancy records. Courts hold family justice property information.
No institution can easily verify the full picture of a person's property interests and rights — even where this is essential to safeguarding, family justice, or financial support decisions.
Property Interest Verification Framework™
The Property Interest Verification Framework™ proposes a verification layer across property-related institutions. With consent, an individual's property interests can be verified and confirmed to requesting institutions without requiring them to produce title deeds, mortgage statements, tenancy agreements, or court orders.
Key Integrations
• Land Registry — title, ownership and charge verification
• Mortgage lenders — outstanding mortgage and charge confirmation
• Housing associations — tenancy rights and social housing status
• Courts — family justice property orders and restrictions
Applications
Property Interest Verification™ has particular relevance for family justice proceedings (where property interests are frequently in dispute), housing applications, mortgage access, and financial safeguarding — especially where economic abuse has affected property rights or where an injunction or property order is relevant.
Strategic Audience
HM Land Registry · Ministry of Justice · FCA · Mortgage Lenders · Housing Associations · Family Courts
