1. Purpose

The SAFECHAIN™ Safeguarding Kitemark Accreditation Model is a proposed recognition framework designed to highlight institutions that demonstrate commitment to strong safeguarding governance principles.

The model is inspired by institutional quality standards used in professional environments to encourage continuous improvement.

2. Concept

Institutions engaging with SAFECHAIN™ safeguarding standards may be recognised through a Safeguarding Integrity Kitemark.

The kitemark represents organisational commitment to:

• safeguarding awareness
• ethical professional practice
• institutional accountability.

3. Accreditation Criteria

Possible criteria for institutional recognition may include:

Safeguarding Governance

Evidence of clearly defined safeguarding responsibilities within the organisation.

Professional Awareness

Participation in professional education programmes related to safeguarding and trauma awareness.

Demonstration of clear safeguarding documentation practices.

4. Accreditation Process
