1. Vision

The long-term vision of SAFECHAIN™ is to contribute to safeguarding environments that are:

  • institutionally coherent

  • ethically grounded

  • trauma-aware

  • aligned with legal and regulatory frameworks.

The roadmap outlines potential stages for development over a ten-year period.

Phase 1 (Years 1–2)

Foundation and Policy Development

Key objectives:

  • development of core SAFECHAIN™ governance documents

  • publication of safeguarding policy papers

  • engagement with academic researchers

  • early institutional dialogue.

Focus areas:

  • safeguarding governance research

  • professional training framework development

  • policy dialogue on institutional safeguarding challenges.

Phase 2 (Years 3–5)

Institutional Collaboration

Key objectives:

  • collaboration with universities on safeguarding research

  • development of professional education programmes

  • institutional consultation with safeguarding organisations.

Possible initiatives:

  • safeguarding governance workshops

  • academic conferences on safeguarding reform

  • collaborative research publications.
